Side note? Yes, this is a ménage "mates" relationship, but it's not erotica, there is real relationship progression, not just sex, but good character development, and a nice twist on how Omegas are treated. The writing and narration drew me in and kept me glued. I'm not going to lie, this isn't my usual go-to genre, and I also don't usually gravitate towards menage relationships, but I was really pleasantly surprised. The reaction of Carter, a human captured by an alien bug-like species, to his cage mates Siel and Pykh (who are also aliens, but picture 7 foot tall giant tabby cats with enormous quills down their heads and shoulders) and the way only Siel and Pykh are able to communicate with each other and how they're all trying to understand what they're saying is a blast. This book made me laugh out loud so many times. I had such a great time listening to this! Joel Leslie is sublime, with great character voices, timing, and pacing, and then he ups the ante with such perfectly timed humor.
